CSI Makes Sign for an Honorary Street in Sarpy County

Wednesday, July 6, 2022

Cornhusker State Industries (CSI) Sign Shop made a road sign for a new dedicated street. This street was named in honor of the fallen U.S. Marine Cpl. Daegan Page. Cpl. Page was one of the 13 service members that was killed in an August 2021 attack in Afghanistan.

"A portion of Gertrude Street from 157th and Emeline Streets to South 162nd Avenue and Harrison Streets now carries a "Cpl. Daegan Page Street" honorary designation." according to the official Sarpy County press release. The sign unveiling ceremony took place on Thursday, June 30th.

CSI's Sign shop is in the Nebraska State Penitentiary. In this shop they manufacture a variety of signs for the Nebraska Department of Transportation and custom signs like the honorary sign. To produce these signs there is a lot of patience and craftsmanship that the incarcerated workers take pride in.
