Cornhusker State Industries (CSI) had representatives attend the National Correctional Industries Association's (NCIA) Annual Conference in Louisville, Kentucky.

CSI is a member of the NCIA. Attendees had the chance to learn about other correctional industries across the United States and industry trends. Through various training sessions, a large exhibit hall, and fun networking opportunities all attendees enjoyed their experience.

Deputy Director Jeremy Elder presented at the conference. The workshop was titled "Recruiting, Engaging and Supporting the Hidden Workforce to Succeed." This presentation gave an overview of CSI's partnership with Metropolitan Community College's 180 Re-Entry Assistance Program. Brian Koch also was awarded the NCIA Honor Roll Award. 

The National Correctional Industries Association (NCIA) is an international nonprofit professional association whose members represent federal, state, county, and international Correctional Industry agencies, as well as suppliers and partners in apprenticeship and work programs, according to their website. NCIA keeps the field up-to-date on reentry strategies, emerging technologies, best practices, as well as the many success stories of incarcerated individuals whose lives have been transformed by Correctional Industries.
