CSI Sign Shop presents in an NCIA webinar.
CSI Sign Shop presents in an NCIA webinar.
The National Correctional Industries Association (NCIA) hosted a webinar on how to effectively manage the Sign Shop operations while providing incarcerated individuals training and reentry opportunities. Cornhusker State Industries (CSI) along with Georgia Correctional Industries (GCI) presented. Twenty Correctional Industries from throughout the United States participated in learning about sign shop operations.
CSI’s Sign Shop, located in the Nebraska State Penitentiary in Lincoln, focused on sign production highlighting shop history, equipment, volume, customer base, types of projects and assignments to incarcerated individuals. In addition, information was presented on traditional sign manufacturing processes, as well as new technologies such as digital printing techniques.
GCI presented the hydro-stripping sign reclamation process, and demonstrated how sign reclamation can provide cost savings to your state DOT.
Both CSI and GCI shared efficiencies and cost-saving techniques used in their sign shop operations
Linda Wendt, Cornhusker State Industries Sign Shop Supervisor along with Lamont Arnold made the presentation on behalf of CSI.
CSI will provide a link of this webinar when available by NCIA. In addition, a longer video on the CSI Sign Shop in currently under production and will be available in a few days.
